The Agile Product Owner is responsible for acting as a member of the Agile product leadership team in the creation of digital solutions to bring shared services, common requirements and platform capabilities to fruition in applications. Is the functional client and/or business representative for a project/set of projects within a market-focus to ensure stakeholder satisfaction and business value delivered.
Primary duties may include but are not limited to:
Translating features into user stories within a team’s backlog and managing ranking and prioritizing this backlog so that it is reflective of stakeholder requirements and priorities
Final testing and acceptance of the user stories supporting the features
Works across multiple scrum teams and related product owners/product managers to implement cross solution common services/capabilities & ensures consistency in implementation with an eye towards reuse and maintainability.
Effectively communicate to the team the stakeholder needs so the team’s delivery meets both contractual requirements and established acceptance criteria including expected quality and performance and to complete various work management activities according to defined service level commitments and process compliancy guidelines.
Collaborate with teams to discover and deliver the best solution to the market problems presented by the Product Manager.
Works with the business to understand rank and prioritize business needs and plan solutions to ensure that each release provides business value to end users sales and marketing.
Drive and manage the solution concept development process to ensure the product team understand the direction and vision.
Create and maintain regularly the solution vision roadmap and backlog of work through the project's life cycle.
Understands how to write user stories and their acceptance criteria.
Translates the product backlog into user stories.
Serve as the Product Management proxy and decision point to represent the stakeholders in the project.
Reviews and accepts/rejects results both during a Sprint and in the Sprint review.
Attends sprint ceremonies and is available to team during the sprint for clarifications and acceptance of user stories.
Creates and/or inputs into a project’s Release plan.
Presents work to team from Team Backlog during Sprint Planning for acceptance by the Team in a Sprint negotiates Sprint goals with the Team.
3+ years of experience with writing business and functional requirements and experience implementing Agile methodologies required, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Leading SAFe (SA) certification
SAFe PM/PO certification, CSPO/PSPO, or Pragmatic Marketing certification preferred
Technical proficiency including an understanding of software fundamentals, specifically around platforms, shared services and modernization strategies with an emphasis on integration and implementation.
Knowledge of Healthcare industry, Utilization Management and Specialty Benefit Management, experience with call center application and workflows required
Strong problem solving and decision making skills, with attention to both functional details, technical details, and process flows
Requires strong business analysis and business systems analysis skills with proven ability to solve business problems with digital solutions
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to bridge business and technical environments, and ability to build professional relationships
Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects with critical timelines
Ability to drive consensus among stakeholders with varying viewpoints, incentives, expertise, and seniority
Experience with gathering requirements and performing root cause analysis
Experience with agile software development methods (i.e. testing background or technical writer experience, automated testing tools) preferred
Ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data preferred
Experience with SQL, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Jira, Jira Align, Aha! Snagit, Daptiv, and DocuShare
