This position will participate in Elevance's hybrid model with up to 4 days in office per month. The Workers' Compensation/Leave of Absence Case Manager Specialist is responsible for for coordinating the administration of Workers' Compensation. How You Will Make an Impact: + Manages the workflow for a large number of claims that will be managed by the Case Managers to ensure equitable workload distribution and administering of claims within department standards. + Responsible for being the first point of contact for worker’s compensation injury reports + Partner with worker’s compensation vendor to track injury, time off and communicate with associates as needed. + Manage the tracking of time out due to a worker’s compensation injury or claim. + Provides advocacy case management to all appropriate WC related LOA claims. + Have the ability to navigate and have difficult conversations as it relates to someone’s medical condition and benefit eligibility. + Manages high impact WC claims to identify the obstacles and opportunities for returning associates to work. + Works with the medical provider, clinic resource, managers, and Local HR to determine the return to work expectations and to facilitate the return to work process. Minimum Qualifications Requires a BA degree and a minimum of 4 years experience in health and welfare benefits, worker’s compensation, disability management, HR operations, and/or benefits administration; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences + Workers Compensation experience in a managed care environment highly preferred.
