Title: Computer Operator II
Location: Shelbyville, KY
The National Government Services Network Operation Center (NOC) Computer Operator is responsible for crisis event monitoring. The NOC is staffed for 24 X 7 X 365 coverage. Proactively address issues before they become problems or incidents.
Essential duties to include, but are not limited to:
Ensures all security, system and production problems are recognized and appropriate action is taken to meet service level agreement schedules.
Monitors Data Center infrastructure and applications adhering to standard operating procedures.
Performs data center administrative functions to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Ensures high standard of customer satisfaction through close monitoring of services, communication of service status, logging incident tickets and monitoring and reporting the health of applications and systems.
Completes installation/removal of data center equipment such as servers, network devices, and cabling.
Assists with receipt and inventory of equipment delivered by courier or common carriers
Coordinates conference bridge or screen-share sessions between department groups or Subject Matter Experts
Requires Associate's degree in Computer or Information Technology or appropriate, recognized trade certification; 3 years of personal computer experience, including experience in telecommunications and network environments; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Excellent technical, telecommunication and computer skills required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills required.
