Job Title: Remote Business Intelligence Developer (Business Information Analyst, Sr.)

Location: Remote / Work From Home (Considering candidates throughout the United States)*

How you will make an impact:

Our Reporting team is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer (Business Information Analyst, Senior) to be responsible for the development of business intelligence tools such as interactive reporting, self-service dashboards, and data visualization. This role also typically provides technical assistance to lower-level staff. We work in a fast-paced environment that is hungry for analytics and insights. If you have strong data analytic skills, have developed reports or dashboards that facilitate decision-making, have a passion for data, and are always looking to make improvements, this may be the role for you.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • End-to-end development of new reports and dashboards and modification of existing reports and dashboards, utilizing Business Objects, Tableau, or SSRS.

  • Identify the most impactful layout and presentation of key metrics and translate that vision into easy to use self-service reports

  • Engage stakeholders to understand and document business requirements.

  • Write simple technical requirements for application, data warehouse and reporting teams.

  • Explore data contained in AIM databases to identify the combination of tables, fields, and business logic needed, in order to construct reports that satisfy customer requirements.

  • Provides data integrity by identifying data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies in the content, structure, and relationships within data; cleans and prepares data, as necessary.

  • Serve as on-duty staff, sharing rotation with other team members, ensuring that scheduled reports run in a timely manner and user requests and questions are answered.

  • Monitor the volume of requests and communicate expectations with customers.

  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.

  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.

  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.

  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.

  • May require taking business issues and devising the best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.

  • May make recommendations based upon data analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field and a minimum of 3 years data analysis or related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Intermediate proficiency in SQL and Tableau

  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is strongly preferred.

  • The ability to manipulate large sets of data is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will have:

  • BS/BA degree in a related field.

  • 3-5 years’ data analysis or related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Experience with enterprise reporting tools (Business Objects and QlikSense preferred).

  • Knowledge of SQL, including SQL Server or similar RDBMS system.

  • Experience with stored procedures, database design, query optimization, and relational database design.

  • Experience with relational databases and an ability to manipulate large sets of data.

  • Understanding of ETL and Data Warehousing concepts.

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

  • Experience writing business and technical requirements.

  • Knowledge of health care industry data specific to benefits management would be a plus.
