Responsible for collaborating with all business and technical areas to support the design and implementation of new medical products or enhancements to existing products both individual and group.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Manages professional level associates engaged in various levels of data and statistical analysis that includes compiling, manipulating, analyzing, and reporting of data. Leads assigned Business Analytics staff in the development/maintenance of technical requirements documentation.
Manages the prioritization and development of system processes and reports for business reporting and analysis purposes including ad hoc data analysis and special projects.
Creates and maintains data analytics audit tracking processes to proactively maintain data quality in automated processes.
Collaborates with enterprise IT teams for prioritization and funding to achieve development efforts for system change required to meet market/client compliance requirements for regulatory reporting and automated COB data load processes.
Develops and presents proposed product benefit designs and provides recommendations for product pricing.
Develops and reviews marketing or sales collateral, configuration and performance of company proprietary and shared rating and claims administration systems.
Maintains overall responsibility for the development, maintenance and publication of product benefit summaries or other benefit information available to individual members or Employer Group Health Plans.
Responds to the potential impact of state mandates or requirements of other regulatory agencies on the structure of product designs and benefits.
Develops and presents an analysis of market competitors and products.
Leads project teams of various sizes for short or long-term projects involving the implementation of new or enhanced medical, dental or specialty products.
Successfully incorporates sound project management methodologies / practices to all work efforts.
Develops and coordinates detailed work or project plans including work breakdown structures; performs resource planning and utilization, defines project scope and approach; plans for and coordinates the acceptance of project deliverables / work products; identifies, manages and resolves issues affecting project implementation; develops and performs risk analysis to factors affecting success of the project; and effectively tracks and reports project status to management at all levels of the organization.
Supports the training and professional growth of assigned Associates, monitors assigned Associate workload and work priorities, capable of critiquing assigned Associate job performance as well as resolving conflicts.
Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 7 years healthcare experience, including minimum of 4 years in a managed care company; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
PC proficiency strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Oracle and MS SQL query development concepts.
5-7 years' experience in analysis of data, compilation and design of reports, and planning experience.
Experience in AGILE Scrum methodology.
Ability to function effectively in a matrix environment, knowledge of managed care healthcare trends and marketing issues, organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, presentation and negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, project management skills.
