Position may be located in Brentwood, TN; Orlando, FL; or near other Anthem locations

Works with business and technology stakeholders to build a holistic view of the organizations strategy, processes, information and technical assets to ensure business and IT alignment.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Recommends new technologies for domains based upon business value drivers and return on investment; drives new technologies towards implementation and exploitation.

  • Establishes overall systems architecture vision and ensures specific components are appropriately designed and leveraged; contributes to the holistic vision of Enterprise Architecture.

  • Understand and document the current state of application and cloud architecture

  • Articulate a vision for Azure cloud strategy and develop a roadmap to achieve it, including overarching enterprise concerns (high availability, disaster recovery, etc.)

  • Provide thought leadership on current trends on cloud development design patterns and new Azure cloud product offerings

  • Oversee the implementation of strategic cloud initiatives

  • Actively provide technical advisory services for internal and external development teams

  • Regularly manage and oversee cloud infrastructure resource and development teams

  • Participate with architecture team in developing software engineering standards

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to internal and external development teams while working in a coordinated manner to deliver and deploy the designed architecture

  • Participate with the CISO in defining and implementing cloud security standards and practices

  • Articulate a vision for DevSecOps practices that support the company’s long term strategy

  • Define, implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines that adhere to company software development standards and practices, while maximizing opportunities to apply automation and reduce direct developer involvement in software asset promotion and deployment

  • Design and implement system performance logging, monitoring and metrics to facilitate investigating application defects and assist in long term planning

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to implementation teams while working in a coordinated manner to deliver and deploy the designed architecture

  • Manage DevOps and development team members

  • Coordinates all enterprise-level conceptual architecture components (e.g., data architecture, application architecture, technical architecture.

  • Monitors usage of architectural components and assumes responsibility for reuse.

  • Drives system migration based upon roadmaps defined in enterprise and domain blueprints.

  • Ensures blueprints are refreshed as needs emerge or in accordance to plan of record changes.

  • Provides continuous consulting services and direction in projects and architectures.

  • Champions and responsible for enterprise level technology and architectural standards, guidelines, principles, frameworks, and reference models.

  • Defines systems, technical, and application architectures for new strategic initiatives; develops and maintains an architectural blueprint and evolutionary roadmap that defines and communicates the strategic direction for these architectures in support of business and technical strategies; explains how the roadmap maintains and delivers cost effectiveness, business value, and competitiveness

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 8 years experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in systems and software development; DevOps/build & release architecture and design

  • 5+ years design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure Devops, Git, Jenkins, GitLab, Gradle, Maven, Conan, SonarQube, npm, Selenium, Squish, Junit, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in health care industry strongly preferred.

  • Extensive experience architecting cloud-based infrastructure

  • Extensive experience in developing, implementing and maintaining complex multi-region, active/passive and active/active application environments

  • Extensive hands-on experience designing disaster recovery procedures and with aggregate monitoring and logging tools

  • Extensive development experience in software development targeting cloud-based infrastructure configurations

  • Familiarity with writing automation scripts using scripting languages such as Powershell or Bash; Experience with Azure CLI is a bonus.

  • Strong leadership capability and ability to motivate and organize a team to be adaptable and creative infrastructure
