Business Strategy Planning Director- GBD Claims Market Services

Location: The ideal candidate would be located in an Eastern or Central time zone, yet this position will consider other Anthem locations.

Anthem’s Government Business Group’s Claims Market Services group is looking for a Business Strategy Planning Director to join its team. This high-performing individual contributor will function as a change leader and strategic partner in the delivery of key initiatives inclusive of people, process and technology components. He/she will be responsible for driving the execution of the team’s project roadmap including key deliverables and deadlines related to their strategic planning and value delivery.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Understands all aspects of the business and partners with executive leadership to define strategy and successful criteria for the future.

  • Translates strategy into defined tactics, programs/projects priorities, and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of enterprises strategic plans to turn strategy into reality.

  • Builds and leverages relationships to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.

  • Proposes opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment.

  • Responsible for the development implementation and monitoring of line of business planning and project activities.

  • Utilizes facilitation, project management and process improvement skills to lead large-scale initiatives to drive out key drivers of customer abrasion and unnecessary costs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience including prior leadership experience and 3 to 5 year strategic planning; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience in a Chief of Staff role or similar experience supporting or interacting with executive leaders.

  • Anthem institutional knowledge of GBD.

  • Experience and knowledge of the Medicaid and Medicare health care business.

  • Experience in project management and process improvement (PMP or Six Sigma Cert. preferred)

  • Experience with claims processing and data exchange
