We are hiring for a Medical Director, Digital Technology. This person will be responsible for working with Anthem’s Clinical, Sales, Account Management and Product organizations to help define the vision, strategy and roadmaps for Anthem Digital’s member-, provider-, employer and partner-facing solutions, products and programs. Serves as a key leader in driving development of applied technologies in health care and leveraging data, analytics and reporting (claims-based, clinical, demographic, SDoH) for population health management. Also responsible for medical affairs and clinical evidence generation by managing assessments and publishing key results in leading journals and industry white papers.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Collaborating with providers and business leaders across the organization to define the future clinical strategy and product roadmap within Digital and the broader Anthem enterprise.
Developing provider-facing products, programs and solutions that promote member-specific and total population health insights and actionable opportunities to optimize care quality, health outcomes and cost efficiencies.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to address near-term business needs and identify and deliver innovative business models and programs, including capturing clinical requirements that represent the needs of members, providers and employers.
Serving as a resource and consultant to external business partners and engaging with member, provider, research and technology entities to influence evolving standards in clinical practice.
Driving publication of key results of interventions and studies, with an emphasis on clinical data and informatics, to prove member, medical and scientific benefit.
Supporting a compelling sales story to clients, prospects, brokers and consultancies regarding Anthem’s value as a total population health partner, including leading position paper development.
Leading analyses of comprehensive data, client business priorities and workforce health issues to determine current-state population health / clinical risks, opportunities and financial impact to identify client-specific gaps, trends and opportunities for data-driven solutions.
Requires M.D. or D.O.
Board certification approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties required, where applicable to duties being performed.
Must possess an active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession.
Unless expressly allowed by state or federal law, or regulation, must be located in a state or territory of the United States when conducting utilization review or an appeals consideration and cannot be located on a US military base, vessel or any embassy located in or outside of the US, and 3 plus years of post-residency experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Product Management and Agile training/experience preferred for Technology focus.
Certifications for Agile/SCRUMM, Data Science education and publication experience preferred for Clinical Data/Informatics focus.
