Engineer I primary duties may include, but are not limited to: + Works to develop knowledge of enterprise technology tools, resources, processes and systems. + Works to develop relationships with the internal or external stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements. + Will learn end to end IT engineering and change request process. + Creates exhibits and other support materials as necessary. + Assists with documenting less complex business and technical requirements for coding on system components. + Assists in developing unit test plans while given specific tasks to support implementation. + Works on developing testing best practices. + Assists with provide on-call support and monitoring systems as needed. + May assist in facilitating small groups on peer code reviews. + May participate in vendor evaluations. TheEngineer IIresponsible for end-to-end application, system development and maintenance on medium or semi complex technology platforms within assigned client group, business unit or corporate department. Engineer II primary duties may include, but are not limited to: + Writes correct and clean code with limited guidance while ensuring following best practices. + Partners with internal and/or external stakeholder to better understand business requirements. + Analyzes and classifies semi-complex change request and identifies and documents possible system code enhancements. + Participates in developing application scope and objectives and preparing functional and/or technical specifications. + Partner with designers and other web team members to better understand and apply the right marketing focused content. + Codes and maintains semi-complex components of information systems. + Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results. + Understand testing best practices. + Participates in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts. + Develops a general understanding of how the work fits in to the larger project and identifies problems or issues in requirements. + Provides on call support and monitors the system for semi-complex issues as needed. + Facilitates small group design sessions or code reviews and participates in vendor evaluation. The Engineer III is responsible for the delivery of end-to-end system development and maintenance on complex technology systems within assigned client group, business unit or corporate department. Engineer III primary duties may include, but are not limited to: + Development on medium to large complex customer technology platforms or architectures. + Maintains active relationships with internal and/or external stakeholder to develop business requirements. + Analyzes and classifies complex change request, identifies, and documents possible system code enhancements. + Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends, our products and infrastructure. + Collaborates with engineers and graphic designers to analyze and classify complex change requests. Review and evaluate possible enhancements. + Works with development team to develop and define application scope and objectives; prepare functional and/or technical specifications. + Analyzes and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements. Understands the product, analytics, and drive requirements that take into account stakeholders needs and identifies problems/risks. + Codes and maintains complex components of information systems. Mentors’ others on coding standards and performs code reviews. + Reviews test cases and advises QA on adjacent code/regression impact. + Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results. + Aids in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts. + Provides on call support and monitors the system and identifies system deficiencies. TheEngineer Sris responsible for delivery of end-to-end application, system development and maintenance on complex multi technology platforms within assigned client group, business unit or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms. Engineer Sr primary duties may include, but are not limited to: + Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings. + Owns the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary. + Provides technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact cross functional teams. + Research and may propose new technologies. + Develops and owns list of final enhancements. + Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written. + Performs technical design reviews and code reviews. + May own technical testing to ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed, and system is implemented according to plan. + Assesses current status and supports data information planning. + Coordinates on-call support and ensures effective monitoring of system. Maintains technical development environment. + Mentors’ others and may lead multiple or small to medium sized projects. + Will begin to set direction at the project/service level and influences decision-making. + Provides technical guidance, and mentoring. + Understands the tradeoffs between technical, analytical and product needs of the technical solutions. + Identifies and propose strategies around technical problems affecting team, communicates standards and gets buy-in on solutions. + Facilitates group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues. + Supports vendor evaluation. Engineer I Minimum Requirements: + Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study. Requires experience working on one platform, one database and/or one system language. Engineer I Preferred Requirements: + One or more years of demonstrated programming experience with at least 1 year in Java and Web related technologies. One or more years of experience in working with DB2 UDB or other relational or hierarchical databases. + Working knowledge in Java 5/6 or higher versions of SE/EE, EJB3.x, JDBC, JSP/Servlets, Web Services, WebSphere or any other Java EE server and SQL. Some Java certification a plus. + Some knowledge of JQuery, Ajax, CSS, Angular, Struts or Spring Frameworks preferred. + Good oral and written communication skills. Engineer IIMinimum Requirements: + Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 1 year experience on one platform; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Engineer II Preferred Requirements: + Three or more years of demonstrated programming experience with at least 2 years in Java and Web related technologies. Two or more years of experience in working with DB2 UDB or other relational or hierarchical databases. + Working knowledge in Java 5/6 or higher versions of SE/EE, EJB3.x, JDBC, JSP/Servlets, Web Services, WebSphere or any other Java EE server and SQL. Some Java certification a plus. + Working knowledge of SpringBatch framework with demonstrable experience of at least 1 year. + Experience with JQuery, Ajax, CSS, Angular, Struts or Spring Frameworks + Good oral and written communication skills. Minimum Qualifications forEngineer III: + Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study. + Minimum of 3 years’ experience on one platform, multi database, multi-language or multi business application; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Qualifications forEngineer III: + Five or more years of demonstrated programming experience with at least 5 years in Java and Web related technologies. Five or more years of experience in working with DB2 UDB or other relational or hierarchical databases. + Expertise in Java 5/6 or higher versions of SE/EE, EJB3.x, JDBC, JSP/Servlets, Web Services, WebSphere or any other Java EE server and SQL. Some Java certification a plus. + Working knowledge of SpringBatch framework. Demonstrable experience of at least 1-year desirable. + Experience with JQuery, Ajax, CSS, Angular, Struts or Spring Frameworks + Working knowledge of an ESB tool such as WSO2 or MuleSoft ESB a plus + Good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to guide junior resources with advancing projects of varying complexity. + Some health care IT domain experience preferable.
